The project “Development of the Capacities of Local Authority Employees in the Field of Management and Efficiency of Public Services Processes” has started in 2015 September under the financial assistance of  the 2009-2014 Norwegian Financial Mechanism Programme LT10 “Capacity-Building and Institutional Cooperation between Beneficiary State and Norwegian Public Institutions, Local and Regional Authorities” (co-financed by the Republic of Lithuania and the 2009-2014 Norwegian financial mechanism and instructions for completion).

The aim of the Conception  to evaluate the situation and the importance of the health resorts in the economic and social life and to introduce the outlook of their developement.

Lithuanian Regional Research Institute carried out research “The Evaluation of Alternatives of Reorganization of Customs Departments”.

The aim of the project – to present the evaluation of two alternatives of reorganization of Customs Departments, i.e. the alternatives of 3 and 5 departments, based on cost analysis, the evaluation of EU integration impact, trends of international trade. Experts of Lithuanian Regional Research Institute were participating in “SME Development Project in Lithuania. New Start and Outreach Program” in Telšiai County, which was carried by KTU Regional Development Center.

The research-market study “The Evaluation of Economical, Social Impact of Infrastructural Project in the Regional Park of Nemunas Loops” was presented.

The aim of the study – to evaluate the impact of infrastructural project to the economic and social life of Birštonas municipality, Kaunas County and whole Lithuania.

Lithuanian Regional Research Institute together with other experts prepared the Strategy of Economic Development of Lithuanian Regions and the Strategy of Tourism Development in the context of long-term Economic Development Strategy (Lithuanian versions of the above mentioned Strategies are presented in the website www.svarstome.lt).

TRAINING COURSES following IV-th Measure of the Utena Pilot Project under PHARE SPP were finished.

The aims of the project:

  • To render technical information and knowledge necessary for the adaptation to the EU hygiene, environment and animal welfare standards; 

  • To train farmers how to implement the projects funded by the EU and render information on the related specific requirements. 

To implement these objectives, the training courses were organised. All beneficiaries must be included into training courses and seminars, or the desired consultations must be rendered to them. This measure was implemented taking into consideration the beneficiaries’ specific characteristics according to the funded measures:

  • support to alternative farm activities 

  • support to rural tourism 

  • support to SMEs

The Conception of Development of Health Resorts of Lithuanian was represented to majors of Lithuanian health resorts and representatives of the Government.

The aim of the study – to evaluate the role and significance of the health resorts in Lithuania and to produce the perspectives of their development.

The Study of Problems and Perspectives of Lithuanian Road Freight Sector Due to the Integration to EU.

In this study the juridical situation of goods transport sector of Lithuania and EU was analyzed and compared; main tendencies and problems of integration into EU foreseen, main strategies, tasks and means of development of goods transport sector established.
